Music
North Side loves music! The choir meets Wednesday evenings during the school year at 7:00. Music director Dan Adams challenges singers to give their best in a wide variety of music. Allison Daley, Brian Jay, Bill Gaus and Mary Sutton share their talents at the keyboard.

Education
Life-long education is valued at North Side. We are dedicated to connecting faith and Scripture to daily life. Diversity is expected and a wide variety of views are heard. Difficult questions are welcomed and no topic is off limits as we seek to find understanding. There is a class for everyone every Sunday at 11:00.

Special Events
Special events are common at North Side. Spiritual retreats, healing rituals, concerts and special speakers add to the richness of community. Please check the calendar to see what events are coming soon.

Youth Group
Youth in junior and senior high are invited to the Youth Group on Wednesday evenings at 7:00. The group seeks to help young people sort through their real life dilemmas from a faith perspective. We encourage our young people to participate in camping opportunities and annual mission trips.

North Side Youth Group

Care of Our Building and Grounds
North Side owns and maintains our building. Members provide volunteer hours and expertise in caring for the facility and grounds year round.

Small Groups
Many North Side seekers experience significant spiritual growth through their commitment to a small group. Our Pastor, Nancy Brink, is committed to helping others start small groups whether for study, support, or service. If you are interested in attending or starting a small group, please contact Nancy. Some of the on-going groups currently are a Sunday evening women’s group, worship planning, and a Thursday evening study group.

Daily Prayer
We are committed to nurturing a daily discipline of prayer. Prayer resources that link you to others in the community are available at the church.

Ministries Outside the Congregation

Angel Food Ministries
In 2007, we began participating in this grocery relief social outreach program. Angel Food Ministries has been in existence since 1994 and is non-profit and non-denominational. One Saturday a month there is an opportunity to purchase groceries for $30 which are valued at $60 or more. There are no financial qualifications and all orders are welcome. Our volunteers experience "hands on" service to the community thru this program.

Food Pantry
North Side is very generous in contributing to the food pantry. The food is available for those who call or drop by. Help to people in the congregation and community is done confidentially.

Live Theater Community
There has been a long connection between North Side and the theater community of Omaha. Several theater companies use North Side’s space for rehearsals and occasionally, for productions. Some of our members are playwrights, actors, producers, and technical production people and have won Theatre Arts Guild Awards for their work. North Side won a TAG award for its 2006 musical review, “Why Do Women Get All the Good Songs”?

Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Support Group
Mary Sutton and Nancy Brink host a positive group that offers friendship and spiritual support to those in the Omaha area who struggle with these debilitating conditions. The group meets monthly the second Monday morning at 10:30 in Nancy’s office.

Sharing Our Building
North Side’s building is in heavy use. Every Monday night the Omaha Jugglers meet in Fellowship Hall at 7:30. Three theater production companies (Shelterbelt, SNAP and Little Apple) hold rehearsals here. The telephone Pioneers hold monthly luncheons in Fellowship Hall. Other community groups use the building as needed. Non-members hold weddings, covenant services, and funerals in the sanctuary.

Child Savings Institute
Omaha’s CSI has an historic connection to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). North Side supports this important ministry to our area's children.
